Big Horn River Trip

Back from my Bighorn River trip. One word. AWESOME! Simply an awesome fishery. Floated the river for 3 days and fished for 4. Great weather at 68-71 degrees. We all got into numbers of fish as well as fish in size.  Well over 150 fish for the days fishing not to mention the ones hooked and lost.  Average fish was 15 inches with many in the in the 17-18 inch range. My best day for size was 18, 19, 23 inch browns with a bow just under 20 inches. Streamer fishing was great as was the nymphing.  A thank you goes out to Rich Strolis for tipping me on some of the nymph patterns.  Thanks man!  Only a handful of nymphs were needed.  A great fishery to break in new fly patterns especially streamers. Lots of success with some new patterns.  A great trip with two great friends.  Lots of laughs. Lots of beer. Lots of fish. What else could I ask for! A beautiful river and beautiful scenary. I was reminded why I love Montana so damn much....................
